First Visit Experience

Your first visit at our East Harlem, Carroll Gardens, or Midtown dental office is one of our most important moments together.

It’s a chance for us to get to really know each other, build a relationship of comfortable trust, and establish a baseline from which we can plan the future of your smile.

Come right in (after a temperature check, and COVID questionnaire, of course) and grab a cup of coffee or tea. If you forgot to fill out your paperwork online, you can do it on one of our iPads while you listen to music.

Before you know it…

…we will be whisking you back to one of our comfortable chairs where your hygienist will begin your assessment including:

  • A full series of x-rays & intra-oral photos
  • Periodontal charting and home-care questions
  • A complete and comprehensive exam of your teeth, soft tissues, head, and neck including a TMJ assessment, oral cancer screening, and sleep apnea evaluation

After the assessments are completed we do a thorough cleaning. Once your teeth are all shiny, the doctor completes the exam and we will sit down for a chat to discuss and review your assessment so you have a clear understanding of your overall dental health.

If there are issues, we will work with you to develop a treatment plan.

And don’t worry.

We also mean over-the-top, pampering, pain-free comfort while you are in our office. One of the first things patients notice is that we don’t smell much like a dental office. That’s because we use aromatherapy to create a sense-soothing feeling of calm. Next, you’ll notice how clean and bright our offices are and how delicious and refreshing our coffee and tea service is.

Help yourself to something cool from the beverage refrigerator…but don’t take too long to drink it! We’ll be settling you into one of our supremely relaxing dental chairs before you know it. If you need some entertainment, choose a movie, your favorite show, or some music and lean back. Once your procedure is over, relieve your lips with a complimentary lip balm. And don’t forget your bag full of dental goodies on your way out. New York smiles never had it so good!

Payment Options and Insurances

We not only want to offer everyone in the neighborhood amazing dentistry, but we also want to make it affordable too! We participate with several PPO insurance plans including:

We also accept benefits from the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) as partial payment out of network, and we discount our fee schedule as a courtesy for any remaining balances.

If you aren’t in-network with one of our plans, don’t worry. We’ll provide the same top-notch care for folks who pay out-of-pocket at the time of service. Our fees are competitive, plus, we will work with your insurance carrier to help you recoup the maximum out-of-network benefits. We also have an outstanding dental savings plan for patients without insurance, offer financing through CareCredit, and take all major credit cards. If you have any questions or concerns, just ask!
